Excel: Feature updates

This channel release contains the following feature updates:

  • Changes in shared files View who has made changes in shared documents, and restore earlier versions. More information
  • Object manipulation: Grab object handles with the Surface pen to resize, rotate, move, and more.
  • Lasso Select: Use Lasso Select on ink by using the Surface pen button instead of the ribbon.
  • Data transformation and connectivity enhancements: The Percentage data type is now supported, and binary combining function authoring experiences have been enhanced.

Excel: Non-security updates

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Fix an issue where, when the Office theme is set to Black, an “Unexpected Error” error message appears when right-clicking on a query in the Workbook Queries pane.
  • Fix an issue where Excel crashes when the user tries to access PivotTable Options.

OneDrive for Business: Non-security updates

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Fix an issue where OneDrive for Business is not disabled, even though the appropriate registry key is set to disable it, when Office is configured to receive updates from a location other than the Office Content Delivery Network (CDN).

  • Closed captions: If a slide contains a video that has closed captions, the captions can be played in the slideshow.
  • Multiple audio trackes: If a slide contains a video that has multiple audio tracks, the tracks can be played in the slideshow.

PowerPoint: Non-security updates

  • Fix an issue where, when in Slide Show mode and Narrator is running, PowerPoint crashes when the user clicks on a hyperlink and the site is slow to load.
  • Fix an issue where real-time typing when coauthoring doesn’t work with tables.

Skype for Business: Non-security updates

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Fix an issue where the last conversation window goes blank once all the other tabs are closed.
  • Fix an issue where the default focus isn’t in the chat input area when tabbed conversations are disabled.
  • Fix an issue where the “Forgot your dial-in PIN?” link doesn’t appear in the meeting invite.
  • Fix an issue where some text is clipped and truncated on the General and Audio device pages when using high DPI screens at 175% display or higher.
  • Fix an issue where Skype for Business crashes when the computer is suspended or resumed when there is no network and the computer is an “always on, always connected (AOAC)” computer.
  • Fix an issue where no microphone is detected in a call when using a Polycom CX100 device.
  • Fix an issue where choosing a link such as \\servername or file:// in an IM message results in an error message instead of opening the location.
  • Fix an issue, in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment that uses location-based routing, where the user can’t make or receive PSTN calls because the server thinks the location of the user isn’t valid for PSTN calls.
  • Change the subject line of the email sent for a missed message, when the user’s status is set to Do Not Disturb or Presenting, from “Missed conversation with <name>” to “<Name> sent you a message in Skype for Business.”
  • Start capturing the timestamp for the first time sign-in on the device as part of census data to help identify sign-in reliability trends.

Visio: Feature updates

This channel release contains the following feature updates:

  • Control file and image sync: Go to File > Options > Sync to control whether all files and images are automatically downloaded for all pages in notebooks.
  • Accessibility improvements: Improved support for using the keyboard, Narrator, and other assistive technology to work with shapes, edit with others, and more.

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Fix an issue where cell values with text and double quotes aren’t correctly exported when saving as CSV or CSV UTF-8.
  • Fix an issue where Excel hangs or crashes when closing.

PowerPoint: Non-security updates

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Fix an issue where, when opening PowerPoint on a computer that has Malwarebytes 3.0 installed, a “Stopped working” error appears or PowerPoint crashes.
  • Fix an issue where the default template doesn’t appear under File > New.
  • Fix an issue where typing text is interrupted and delayed when a file that has embedded fonts is auto saved.

Skype for Business: Non-security updates

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Fix an issue where the option to share a secondary monitor doesn’t appear with certain monitor configurations on Window 10 Version 1607 (also known as the Anniversary Update).
  • Fix an issue where Skype for Business crashes when zooming into shared content when the sharer is using a 3rd party implementation of RDP.
